on the couch

Lately I've begun to discover the interesting and debilitating effects that lack of sleep can cause. However, the papers both completed and turned in, my obligations for the week were fufilled. Today basically consisted of 1 terrible history of Rome class, 1 hour of work at the union, and 1 conference with Maura my english 42 TA. One of the most striking events was witnessing the Girl Scout cookie sale in the Pit. Who knew they actually dragged those girls out, in what had to be the middle of a school day for them, to sell cookies to college kids that are definately not being very good role models for them. Stuart, my co-worker at the time, was quickly pressured by 6 little girls into buying peanut butter sandwhich cookies known as "Do-se-dos". The name appears to be a nonsensical moniker devised by some marketing agency to give the cookies a dynamic sense of action or adventure. In reality, they are just normal-ass cookies in an orange box, with pictures of girl scouts on them. Diet coke at the Pit Stop is only $1.16, when Diet pepsi in the drink machine is $1.25, so I think we can all see where the real value in this world is. It is a very sad day when even the prospect of a free drink cannot entice me to purchase the shitwater that is DP. If anyone knows what the hell the "Art of Henna" is, and why it was left at our house after Sabado Gigante, your imput would be appreciated, as the box remains on the coffee table, like a lonely lost reminder of the randomness that was our party saturday. Also one of the 3 kegs still remains on the porch; as the cleaning schedule in this apartment goes, it will remain there for about 4 more months. As Merle Haggard said, "Tonight the Bottle let me down..." and with that, I go to the ruffled goodness of the bed.
